Touch Screen Display
The new graphical LCD touch screen is designed to make the user interface simple and fast to use. All Modes and settings are accessed through the LCD Touchscreen. Only information relating to the Mode or function selected is displayed on each screen. Graphic touch sliders are used to adjust all settings, this is much faster than push buttons when making big changes.
User Memories can be named (15 characters) and edited using the on screen touch keyboard. This memory naming makes it easy for the user to remember each memories intended use. Changing memories is done through a menu screen, which makes changing between any of the memories only two quick touches of the screen.
The footswitch positions are programmable, with a graphical representaion that makes it easy for the surgeon to get a feel for the footswitch positions, before saving the settings.
Four UltraSonic Modes
The Evolution II system has four UltraSonic modes, Load compensating UltraSonics (Phaco), US Pulse (Pulse), a cool incision fragmentation (Micro), and a Multi-Pulse mode (Multi). The Load compensating UltraSonic mode allows the ultrasonic handpiece to emulsify hard or soft nuclei with minimum power. The ultrasonic driver automatically senses tip loading 1,000 times per second. These precise power adjustments allow the surgeon to fragment even the densest nuclei with minimal ultrasonic energy. The Pulsed Phaco mode is the UltraSonics mode pulsed on/off at a fixed frequency of eight times a second. The MicroPulsed mode technology brings cataract and refractive surgeons a reduced energy, "fragmentation" tool, utilizing 200 to 1000 times less energy than ultrasonics. The MultiPulsed mode is a multimodulated MicroPulsed mode that modulates the Evolution II drive eight times a second adding extra drive power to the handpiece when compared to MicroPulsed.
